Do you know about your lymph and what it does for your skin?
Isabella LandebackLymph is often called the forgotten bodily system because most people have never heard of it. If they have heard of the lymphatic system, it's usually in rather unfortunate contexts involving cancer and damage to the lymphatic system. Lymph is one of the body's major waste disposal organs and an important part of our immune system, designed to protect us from illness and other harm. Our lymph nodes are strategically placed in areas like the neck, armpits, and groin, which are stimulated when we move. In short, when muscles contract and relax, the lymph nodes are also compressed and stimulated; one could say that the muscles are the heart or pump of the lymphatic system.
An underactive lymphatic system can lead to skin problems such as dry skin, unclean skin, rashes, cellulite, etc. Over the next few days, you'll learn what you can do to stimulate your lymph as effectively as possible!
Here's what lymph does:
» Eliminates viruses and bacteria in our bodies.
» The immune system helps us fight infections.
» Transports substances such as cells, proteins, and waste products throughout the body, as well as cells called lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cell.
» Lymph removes toxins and excess fluid from body cells.
